The Nadalet Family

Welcome to our family, welcome to our blog. We are going to try and keep this current for those of you reading from afar (hey mom claire!) But we make no promises. And really, people don't want constant blog updates until there are kids. So in about 5 years this blog will really start going.

Please enjoy our sporadic posts on life as a married couple

Recipe Exchange

I have a fun new idea.  It involves recipes, a mailbox, and my favorite friends!  What am I talking about?  A good old recipe exchange. Basically email me (megan.nadalet[at]gmail[dot]com) or comment on this post if you are interested.  Once I get a group of us (can be as small as three or as large as 100+) together, I will email everyone once a month with who they will send recipes to.  Here's the catch:  it will be by snail mail. There's something about a handwritten recipe that just speaks volumes.  I love seeing someone else's writing and knowing they tried out the recipe first!  Everyone will be split up, so you are sending handwritten recipes to 2 or 3 people, and receiving 2 or 3 recipes.  You can opt in and opt out of this as often as you like. It's just something that's a little fun.  And let's be real, something fun in the mailbox always makes me smile!

So: once a month (around the 15th) you will write out 2 to 3 copies of your chosen recipe for the month (can be a main dish, a side, a drink, etc.; right now it is just general recipes, maybe we can narrow it to something else later on), and drop them in the mail (I'll give you the name and address), then wait a few days and open up your new recipes in the mail!   You can use a plain notecard, a fun recipe card, or make your own recipe card.  But don't use a 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper, that's just no fun!

Count me in. But you're supposed to be too busy for this stuff! Are you sure you can do it?

I figured out a pretty easy way to do it. Shouldn't take much time at all!
