The Nadalet Family

Welcome to our family, welcome to our blog. We are going to try and keep this current for those of you reading from afar (hey mom claire!) But we make no promises. And really, people don't want constant blog updates until there are kids. So in about 5 years this blog will really start going.

Please enjoy our sporadic posts on life as a married couple

new post for Dean

So my Dad (Dean) reads this blog. How do I know? He texted me (facetiously) saying i needed to update the blog. so here it is dad (ps you should comment if you are reading this, homie. or anyone else, comment to let me know you are reading!)

Other news, Matthew is teaching me to play frisbee. I have to play against people who play in leagues (geez Em) in July, so I need to get into shape! haha My throws are already improving, and playing a few games against my Dad beforehand will probably teach me defense (he likes to push people over) and Rod can teach me to throw elbows! haha All in all, it's been fun and we're enjoying the exercise!

I have pictures of the apartment, but they are not on the computer yet. So here are 6 more pictures of they honeymoon.

Second Formal Night, my calf looked weird

Much better picture!

Scared/angry at the monkey!

There's a monkey on my back!

Matt thought this was hilarious!

Headache

So last night I (Megan) got home from bible study with a pounding headache. We just went to bed, hoping it would be gone by morning, like usual. But I woke up at 3 am with what can only be described as sheer pain. I think it was my first migraine (not a milestone I'm proud of). It felt like my brain was going to explode out of the top of my head, or out of my forehead.I was nauseous and extremely sensitive to light. After trying to take some medicine I crawled into bed and asked Matthew to pray. His prayer was deep and moving, and I immediately felt relief. He prayed the prayer of the faithful, knowing that God can and will heal. I wasn't 100% in a minute. But I was able to fall asleep rather quickly and woke up with no pain. Now this is just something little, but I wanted to give God the glory. I also had to rely on Him after Matthew prayed over me. Trusting that God would heal this and make me able to sleep again. He is faithful and true. To Him be the praise and Glory forever and ever. Amen.

As most of you know, we went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Mexico for our honeymoon. Here are a few pictures. I haven't put the rest on facebook yet, and that's where I'm getting them from as I am posting from work! haha

Matt lost a question in the "Newlywed Game" & had to do pushups with me on his back!

Wasps

Well I want to post pictures of the apartment and of the honeymoon, but we don't have pictures of the apt yet, and the honeymoon pictures are on my home computer! I will try to post some later tonight tho!

But I figured I would let you in on a little secret... Matt is deathly afraid of wasps. It makes sense, seeing as he was stung in the eye when he was a kid. But when he screamed and ran when the first wasp appeared on the porch, i had to try very hard not to laugh. Once he explained himself I realized that I would handle wasp problems in our house (yet he still kills the spideys!) haha

So the story continues, this wasp keeps sitting on our doorjam, so we don't want to open the door and disturb it or let it in the house. I shooed it away with a broom, but on day 3, it had friends with it. At this point Matt bought some wasp spray, and I called my dad. His advice "Have Matthew take off his shirt, then cover his chest with honey and have him lay in the backyard. When they land on them, hit them with a fly swatter." Very creative, Matt's response - "We have wasps, not BEES!!" Long story short, Kevin and Lindsey came over, and by this time we had 3 cans of wasp spray. So around 7 pm (they're calmest at night), Kevin sprays the nests. Then knocks them down, and steps on them. Matt was in on this action with him. Linds and I just watched from afar. But they knocked down 19 wasp nests on our building (of 4 apartments) alone. There were 2 that were larger than grapefruits. We haven't had any problems since then. And we haven' caught any in our trap (that's a kind of a bummer, I wanted to catch a bunch and watch them die) haha So that's whats new with us. Hope it entertained you!

First Post

as a married lady... most of the posts will be mine (okay probably 99%), but hey, maybe Matt is truly a blogger at heart!

The wedding went well and the honeymoon was a blast. We had a fun time wandering around the cruise ship and seeing the sights in Mexico (it was a lot like TJ... go figure!). We met some fun people at our dinner table and are planning on meeting up with them in Glamis sometime soon. Pictures will be up sometime soon, but they are still on our cameras!

Here are a few pictures from the wedding day. For more, check out Joel's slideshow.
